The latest smart ovens from Hoover come with interactive 19” touchscreens so you can create and save recipes, watch cooking tutorials and browse social media. The Hoover Vision comes with an HD camera to give a close-up view of your oven’s interior.

Samsung smart fridges Family Hub™ feature helps you to shop for food and organise your family’s schedule. From your phone, you can access internal cameras that show what food you have — and automatically tag food expiration dates so nothing goes to waste.

Samsung has also introduced a Recipe to Oven function via the Family Hub that can send the cooking settings from a recipe to your oven – and even monitor the cooking progress. Meanwhile, the SmartThings Cooking function provides recipes and a weekly meal planner that suggests meals to cook each day, based on what you like and the food in your fridge.

The voice-controlled kitchen

Voice control devices such as Alexa and Echo have become commonplace in households as they extend their functionality to include kitchen appliances.

You can now ask Alexa to make you a cup of coffee. The iKettle can be set to boil from wherever you’re using Google Assistant or Alexa. You can also automate it to come on at the same time in the morning.

Revolution has introduced a touch-screen toaster with cooking sensors. It has toasting algorithms for up to 34 bread types, with sensors that adjust in real time. At the touch of a screen, you can make perfect toast, bagels, waffles and paninis.
